January 6, 13, 20, 27, Sundays 10-11am

I'll be teaching a small-group introduction to Mysore-style Ashtanga this winter. The main goal of this is to give new students a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga in a format that allows for discussion, questions, and philosophy in addition to asana practice. 

We will meet once a week for four weeks, and what we learn during this time together will be what you practice during the following week in AYM's Mysore room.

Important to note:

1) You are required to practice a minimum of three times per week (up to a possible 6) for the month that you are enrolled in the intro series, and attend all four Sunday intro sessions, barring any emergencies. After the series is over, you are welcome to continue in the Mysore program with the same commitment of a minimum 3x/week practice.

2) Yoga is an internal practice. The postures we do on the mat are tools to help us observe and transform our minds-- not goals in and of themselves. This method can be practiced by anyone with any body who has an interest in it, and if a certain movement or position is inaccessible for whatever reason, it can be modified. So yes, we will do yoga poses, but this series will not teach you how to do arm balances or put your legs behind your head. (That may or may not come later.)

Dates: Sundays from 10-11am: January 6, 13, 20, 27. Possible snow-day-make-up-day on February 3.
